Sunshine and Lemonade!

by Kristin Lewis

I had the most fun making a "Happy Birthday" banner for a cutie that turned one! The theme was Pink Lemonade, and the mother requested pinks, yellows, and a sunshine. The banner was carefully placed over the popcorn and treats table, and it will be perfect for years of celebration for this little nugget. Thanks, Sarah, for letting me make this special addition to Caroline's birthday party. It was such a fantastic day!

Books, Banners, and a Special little girl named Isla

by Kristin Lewis

One of my great life passions is reading, and I can thank my mother and grandmother for my love of books. My grandmother was an 8th grade English teacher, and my mother was a librarian, so books have always been in my life. For the past (almost) four years, I've been fortunate enough to be in a book club, and I adore everything about our club. We meet at 5:30 and we usually are not wrapping up until close to 9. We share a meal together (usually our food choices are based on the book), we talk, we laugh, we discuss, and we love. It has been a life long dream to share my love of reading with friends, and I'm so lucky to be able to spend an evening once a month discussing literature with wonderful women. One of our members is expecting her second child (a little GIRL!) in two short weeks, and we had a surprise baby shower for her during our book club. We showered sweet Isla Grace with some of our most favorite literary treasures, books of love and strength. We love you already, Isla Grace, and we wish you years of happy reading.

Love Affair with Pink and Grey

by Kristin Lewis

I have always loved the color combination of pink and grey. I think it speaks of femininity, elegance and innocence. I love it so much that when we found out we were having a girl, I begged my pink-boycotting husband to let me give it a shot. I gravitated toward a light pink and grey combination with cream accents. My parents graciously saved my childhood furniture, which is cream and vintage, so it blended perfectly with the color combination I was dreaming about. I scoured the internet (mainly Etsy) to find the perfect accent pieces to compliment our vintage pink and grey nursery. I love it. I love everything about it. It's inviting, airy, elegant and, most importantly, cozy for our little girl.

One of the things I have enjoyed most since staring onetinyheart is interacting with moms-to-be, brides-to-be and grandmothers-to-be. There is such an excitement and joy in our exchanges that is palpable across the internet. Recently I received an inquiry about a custom order from a sweet grandmother-to-be. She is involved in her daughter's baby shower and was looking for some decorations for the shower.  She requested a banner with her grand daughter's name in pink and grey, as those were the colors of the nursery!!! I was so excited to make another banner for a new little girl in the colors I adore. Through our conversation, she said the banner would likely be placed in the little one's room. *Smiles* Nothing sweeter than a little baby girl being welcomed by name into her room.

A New Beginning....

by Kristin Lewis

Welcome to One Tiny Heart! My name is Kristin Lewis, and I am the founder and creator of OTH. This shop started as a casual conversation with my husband about our jobs, our happiness, and our family, and, as with most unexpected life events, I could never have dreamed this path of creativity would lead me here, culminating in a new beginning for OTH. What started as a simple conversation turned into an Etsy shop, which led me to expand to a website. And here we are. Someone please pinch me, this cannot be happening!

I will be blogging about custom orders (already I have some I'm working on that I'm DYING to show you!), fun creative ideas, or coffee, books and wine. I love all of them equally, and I usually indulge in at least one of them every day. :) In fact, I'm currently reading Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple. If you're looking for a book that will have you laughing out loud and crying all at the same time, this book is for you!

Coincidentally, today is my birthday, so as I check off another year, journey with me as I start a new year and a new beginning.

Much Love,

Kristin
