A Year of One Tiny Heart

by Kristin Lewis

October is my favorite month of the year. There is something in the rustling of the leaves, the slant of the sun, and the crispness in the air that feels like home to me. It seems fitting, because I adore this month so much, that October is home to my wedding anniversary and now the anniversary of One Tiny Heart. One Tiny Heart started out as a conversation, which turned into a dream, and then materialized into way more than I could have imagined. I opened the Etsy shop on October 6, 2013 (two days after my wedding anniversary), and I still remember clicking the button that made it a "live" shop and thinking "Is this really happening?" I took a leap of faith into the abyss not sure if I would fly or fall but being open to either.

I still remember getting my first "non-family member" sale and thinking, "Oh my goodness, someone other than my mother thinks my stuff is cute!" After the holiday rush, I decided to look for other ways to branch out, and on my birthday, April 25, the One Tiny Heart website was launched.

The shop and response from customers has been more than I could have dreamed. Just this month, we hit 500 sales, and I'm so very grateful for everyone that has helped make this year happen. Many thanks and much love to all of you who have supported, liked, purchased, and encouraged me along in this journey. I am forever grateful for the love and support you all have given me. A special thanks to my husband and love, Carey, who has put up with craft supplies all over the house, the hustle and bustle of last minute orders, and who has made countless trips to the post office on his way to work. Your support, care, and quiet encouragement is invaluable. I love you!

Here's to many more years of banners, parties, and a One Tiny Heart.
